A lot of people are saying that the Marine that killed 16 people (mostly children) was mentally ill, which is probably true because there are Marines that deal with mental illnesses (depression, anxiety, etc.) but it is unknown if this particular Marine is indeed mentally ill. Anyway, my co-workers were talking about this today and my Muslim co-worker said, "If that was an Afghani that went and shot 16 Marines will sleeping, the Afghani would have been a terrorist. If an Arab shot 16 kids at school in the United States, that Arab would have been a Muslim terrorist. Why is the Marine regarded as mentally ill? Is it because he's a White American? He's not mentally ill, he's a terrorist!" Her saying that caused a heated argument. I just think that this guy had enough and reached his breaking point, but that's just my opinion.
