  The 5th One Day International cricket match between South Africa and Australia, played on March 12, 2006 at New Wanderers Stadium, Johannesburg, has been acclaimed by many media commentators as being one of the greatest One Day International matches ever played. The match broke many cricket records, including both the first and the second team innings score of over 400 runs. Australia won the toss and elected to bat first. They scored 434 for 4 off their 50 overs, smashing the previous record of 398-5 by Sri Lanka against Kenya in 1996. In reply, South Africa scored 438-9, winning by one wicket with one ball to spare.

  Truly THE greatest one day international ever played as Tony rightly sums it up in the end. It looked like as if the ball was made of steel and the hoardings were magnets that kept attracting it. Herchule Gibbs... man... he was playing like as if he had read the script. Absolutely brilliant. Same goes for Grame Smith. He too played like a war hero who could not stay to watch the battle being won. For Australia... well.... Lewis has not seen daylight since!!!!!

  If Mcgrath was there though in last over still he will not make possible Ricky really missed to him. Hats of to Gibbs the way he admire he comes that we can only win and Smith,Vander wath and boucher. total team effort why other Indian will never plays when Tendulkar plays. This Ravindra Jadeja make him most unhappiest person when he hits 175 runs. Tendulkar was about to cry. Hats of Sachin when he retired we will really miss u. All the Best for 2011. Look Yuvraj he have the talent but no use.
