  • Cricket fans, which World Cup losses have been the most disappointing so far?

For me as an Indian team supporter it's the 2003 WC final and 2007 early exit from the tournament
    .
SA is my favourite team, so as a SouthAfrican fan it's the 1992,1999 and 2003 WC matches that SA got eliminated that still disappoints me whenever I remember them.

  • Why the "birthplace" of Cricket has never won a major tournament?

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cricket

No need to say that Britain is the first place where Cricket was originated. The fans of England really love this sport alot along with football.
I always find it interesting, surprising and sometimes disappointing that English side has never won a major tournament till now. They have produced great quality Cricketer over the years like Sir.Ian Botham,M Trescothic ,Sir.Leonard Hutton and so on.
They have lot of potential and Quality and still they haven't won a major tournament like World Cup.
What could be the reason according to you?.
They have been to the finals three times in the past(1979,1992,1987) and lost all of them.
Do u think they can do it in any one(T20,Champions trophy or upcoming World Cup) of the majors this time?
The three finals reminded me of Andy Murray's two finals in slams against Federer and losing both of them.
How do you view this current team's progress/performance according to you?.This side has a lot of flair and talent IMO.

    Only Genuine answers please.
    @ph:lol.Iam a SouthAfrican supporter mate.
I am not a English fan but I do like their Cricket. That's the reason.

  • Don't you find it funny when casual boxing fans try to tell hardcore fans they know nothing about boxing?

I've been a fan of the sport for almost 30 years.

I've seen many of the sport's greatest champions, including Alexis Arguello, Aaron Pryor, Sugar Ray Leonard, Thomas Hearns, Roberto Duran, Mike Tyson, Larry Holmes, Julio Cesar Chavez, Terry Norris, Nigel Benn, Roy Jones, Jr. etc, etc... growing up. Boxing has long been my favorite sport, there's no other sport like it in the world.

However, I do find it quite hilarious when casual boxing fans, or people who have some sort of sick vendetta against me and others like me (for no reason at all, LOL) try and tell me and other hardcore boxing fans that we cheat, that we look up Google for our answers, that we know nothing of the sport, etc, etc... when these are the people who truly know nothing about boxing.

It's pretty sad, I think, that people actually carry online vendettas against others in this section, because, unlike them, we hardcore fans can actually rack our brains and give our views on the sport without having to look up any source.

Why do people do this in this?
*Edit "Why do people do this in this section?"
Thanks for the answers, and for Nigel Benn, I find books to be a better source of info than any website, please try again. :)

  • How Would Cricket Section Be Like In 1975 World Cup?

I know Y!A was started in 2005, but if it would have been in 1975, before the first ODI WC, what it would be like?

Would there be any of the current users? If so they must be kids!
Users from which country would have been the most? Not much from developing countries because IT was not wide-spread at that time.

What kind of question were likely to be posted? Like " Congrats cricket fans, we have the first world cup arranged!, " Who would win the first mega event?". And " Are you satisfied with the England being chosen as the hosts?"

Finally how Y!A would be like, better than today or even worse? Cricket section be governed by trolls or would there have been a democratic government here?

  • Will win or loss in today's tour ending and series decider match make any difference to pakistan cricket?

it won't wash out the fixing scandal but will be good way to end the tour? or, do the pak fans see it like the world cup 1992 Re-match? Saw a question the other day which said its now as big as the 1992 world cup final between England and pak.
